I have these games, I've played them ad nauseum, and have no desire to expand those experiences further, at least just yet. Overall, no rush for me, but it will be hard to hold back when Mario Odyssey releases.ĮDIT: Oh! And the upcoming games all seem like Greatest Hits to me. Personally, I want to give the OS and hardware time to evolve and fix defects in the devices and the experience. Switch experiences it also.Īlso, at 35 years old, and with 2 kids, I have a backlog of about 2 dozen games to play still, including Xenoblade, Bayonetta, and Wonderful 101, plus a ton of virtual console stuff. I have played through Zelda BOTW for 100 hours, and rarely did slowdown bother me, plus it's not limited to the Wii U.
The Wii U is also still popping out new games! I got Ghost Blade HD yesterday, and it's great. I'd rather have the full experience, which the Wii U Still offers. It makes the device feel incomplete, and like a true beta. It's very odd for a machine to come out that matches the quality of it's predecessor, but weirdly, that's what the Switch does. Thank you for helping me realize how fun this console is Nintendo.

Now I have WindWaker too, and its beautiful. When I decided I wasnt getting the switch, I decided to buy a few games for the Wii U I had never played before.
I found I was so much more efficient with the gamepad at archery than the Pro controller, I use it now almost exclusively. I used to HATE being forced to use the game pad.but breath of the wild made me realize how cool it is. And you know showed me how awesome this big, ugly console I had in a box under my bed really was. So, I pre ordered BotW for the Wii U and waited for it to arrive. Only show stopper is also on a console I already own Slow, faster than the Wii U but still slow compared to current gen consoles Then it came out, and for all its pros, here is what kept me (this is just me, my opinion, your opinion may be different, and thats okay, thats why opinions are so great) from buying it: I kid you not, I had my $300 white wii U sitting in a box under my bed waiting for the Switch to get announced so I could trade it in. We were teased for years on the upcoming Zelda title, and then we find out that its a day one release for your new console. I was an early adopter of the Wii U, and it was definitely a turbulent time to be a Nintendo fan. Im sorry Nintendo, I fully planned to trade in my Wii U for the switch back when the NX was first announced.
